Swan House is fully committed to caring for the environment and maximising guest enjoyment and comfort during their stay in Hastings.
Since we opened in 2006, we encourage a sense of environmental responsibility by the following:
Promoting our Environmental Policy for all our guests to read and understand
Committed to saving water by using hippo bags in all the WCs, which reduces water usage after each flush
Use light bulbs suitable for low energy, long life usage
Have a monitoring system in place to maintain low levels of energy consumption
Use A rated, or the most efficient new appliances available in the kitchen for cooking, washing and chilling
Have a towel usage policy that encourages all guests to leave dirty towels in the shower cubicle/bath for washing
Minimise the use of the business vehicle as far a possible and combine trips with other purposes. Arrange home deliveries of products via local suppliers where possible
Compost waste where possible, and recycle using the facilities offered by the local council and nearby
In quieter months, turn heating down to a minimum, and turn off water tanks not in use
